Shiz

Well guys, we open tomorrow.

SO! In review, so you know whats going on when you see it tomorrow, here are the basic plot lines:

  • Hector is the head fighter of troy. He challenges the mightiest Greek to come fight with him one-on-one to decide the fate of the war.
  • Achilles is the mightiest fighter in Greece. BUT he gets all cocky and refuses to fight Hector.
  • The Greek War council (Ulysses, Aggy, Nestor, Menelaus, Diomedes, etc.) recruits the dumb brute Ajax to fight instead with the intention of Achilles getting so jealous that he ends up fighting anyway.
  • Troilus and Cressida love each other, but are separated when Cressida gets sent to Greece in exchange for the prisoner Antenor. Their relationship is orchestrated by Pandarus.
  • When in Greece, Cressida fools around with Diomedes and Troilus throws a tantrum.
  • Paris stole Helen from Menelaus, a Greek official, and started the war. Now Paris and Helen lounge about the palace, and Paris refuses to give her back.
  • Then there is Cassandra, who is always right, but nobody listens to her.
  • Aeneus who is a boss fighter.
  • Patroclus is Achilles bro.
  • Thersites insults the world.
  • Trojan dancers dance.
  • And a partridge in a pear tree.
Those are all of the important things to know. Pheeeeew. That was intense.........like the boy scouts. Get it? Because they're in-tents........... haha, well I thought it was funny...

This show is going to be so cool and intense and epic and awesome and everything else a show could be that's good.

I am so excited, and you all should be too. When you come to the show you'll receive a program that has all sorts of information about the Iliad and such that I didn't cover in the blog.

I look forward to seeing you!

3 days....

3 days........................ I'm in disbelief.

Today we'll start with Ajax. Ajax is the dumb brute. He's about as big as Achilles, but he is soooooo dumb.

But I guess I'm partial, because I play Thersites. Thersites is the fool. He thinks he's smarter than he is, but he is still pretty accurate in his descriptions of other characters. He's really rude..... and crude.
He's technically Achilles servant, but he just goes around being rude to everyone, and thus he gets beaten often.

Ajax especially hates Thersites, mostly because Thersites is so mean to him. Funny things happen when they're together........

When Achilles refuses to fight Hector, the Greek War Council creates a plan to get Ajax to fight, thus making Achilles jealous so that he will want to fight instead. Thersites thinks they're all stupid. Except Ulysses actually. Thersites never insults Ulysses......

I have no pictures of Thersites, because he's me, but here's Ajax and Hector:

In this one, Ajax is in the back behind Ulysses:

4 Days

4

:)

Today we'll finish the War Council

First there's Nestor. He's old.

The last war council guy is Diomedes. He is weird. Just........yeah. Mr. Long doesn't even know what's going on with him, so he must be crazy.

When Antenor is taken prisoner on the Greek side, and Cressida is over with Troilus on the Trojan side, Cressida's father Calchas wants her to come meet him over on the Greek side. So, the Trojans agree to give over Cressida to the Greeks is they give Antenor back to them. This happens.

So, when Cressida gets to the Greek side, she is taken by Diomedes. This is where he gets uber weird. And uber creepy. Uber.

Cressida also gets weird, and we really see her duality of character when she gets taken to the Greek side.

Here he is. Doesn't he look like he's up to no good?

In picture, Nestor is on the far right:

Well, That's all the Greek war council. We're so close guys. I'm so excited!!!! :D

10

10. Yup.

Today we'll start on the Greek War council.

The Greek war council is composed of the highest ranking Greek officials who run the war.
The leader of this group is Agamemnon (Aggy). Aggy is the head general of the Greeks.
He has many people at his command in the war council.

The most prominent is Ulysses. Ulysses is probably the smartest person in the whole show, and he shows it. The man can talk. and talk and talk............... oh, and talk. He's the one who's really running the show. Sorry Aggy.

Remember Menelaus? He's in this group too. This is the place where he throws in lines like "hey guys, can we get my wife back now?". Yup. Pretty much. One of his lines is actually "I had good argument for kissing once." which basically sums up his entire character.

Here are picture of them all:
Menelaus [right] and Aggy [left]

Menelaus [far right] and gang in back.

[from left to right] Menelaus, Aggy, Ulysses, Nestor.

Yay! Now you know some of the war council. We'll get the other next time. :)

11.............Yup

11 H-ing days.

Greeks!

We'll start with Achilles. Achilles is a boss person, but he's also kinda out of it. He's kinda in his own world. He's the mightiest Greek warrior, and he's kind of cocky about it.

He has a side-kick best friend named Patroclus. They are really buddy buddy. They both kind of live in their own Achilles world. The Greek war council kind of resents them for it, but they don't care.

When Hector gives the proclamation that he will fight the mightiest Greek and that whoever wins will win the war, everyone expects Achilles to fight Hector. Well, he thinks he's too cool for that. So people get angsty about it. That's what's going on with him, without spoiling too much for you.

Here's Achilles and Patroclus, standing in the same position:
Awwwwww..... Friends.....

Here's Achilles fighting Antenor, the cool Trojan guy:

Here they are again, except this time, you can see Bryce Murphy dead in the back.....Epic:

Now you know your first couple of Greeks!!!

2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!

2 weeks sounds a lot scarier than 14 days......

Today is the last day of me talking about Trojans. Wooo Hooo. :)

Today is entirely devoted to the Trojan warriors. The Trojan army is epic (the literal meaning of epic, not the teenage version of epic) and awesome and you should all be scared of them.

In our production of Troilus and Cressida, we have a wide variety of actors portraying our Trojan Warriors. We, as a theatre department, have recruited members of the football team, wrestling team,  basketball team, and others. Because of this boost in cast size, this production is one of the coolest things that has ever happened. Ever.

Here are some really cool pictures of them fighting:

Here is another fighting picture, and chase parsons looks legit........ He's the blur at the bottom....:

Here is Paris and Menelaus fighting. Remember they are the two lovers of Helen:
Andrew Swain is the one that's dead...

Lastly, Here is a picture of Paris and Helen all lovey-dovey, along with Pandarus, because I realized I never posted a picture of them:
Pandarus in in orange with the hair. Paris and Helen are being all touchy.
They are surrounded by their posse.

Next time we start Greeks! Wooohoooo!
