See "MISCOMMUNICATION" at The Empress Theatre!
Hey Everybody! Great news! Our very own Gabriel Spencer is having his debut as a playwrite on Friday, the 18th of April! Gabe's play; called "Miscommunication", was submitted to the Utah Theatre Association and picked up by a representative from the Empress Theatre! It is included in a variety of three other one act plays written by other local high school students around the state. This is something you don't want to miss! It opens Friday, April 18th at 7:00pm at the Empress Theatre (9401 West 2700 South, Magna, Utah 84044) and runs through April 26th(Excluding Sunday). Tickets are $7 Monday through Thursday, $8 Friday and Saturday. One act plays from other high school students include West Jordan, Riverton and Olympus High.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Congrats to the Hillcrest State Competition Team who all scored extremely well at the State Drama Festival this weekend. 12 of the 14 pieces we took to State received an overall Superior rating. That's amazing!
Other Special Honors and Awards included:
*Pippin received a special plaque for scoring straight Superiors from all judges.
*The cast of Pippin received a special Outstanding Performance award for their work as an ensemble.
*The following students received medals for scoring straight Superiors from every judge:
-Jonathan Morrison (Dramatic Monologue)
-Cameron Smith (Contrasting Monologues)
-Shanice Holt, Gabe Spencer & Mackenzi Van Engelenhoven (Scene)
-Jessalyn Davis, Averyl Dietering & Briana Shipley (Scene)
-Kent Lloyd & Dalton Parker (Pantomime)
-Layton Anderson (Pantomime)
Make sure to come see all of our State Competition pieces at the Theatre Showcase Monday night. 7:00pm in the Little Theatre. Admission is free!

Competition Showcase
The Theatre Competition Showcase is next Monday, April 14 in the newly cleaned out Little Theatre!
The show will begin at 7:00 and admission is free. Come and see the competition pieces that qualified for the State Festival.
Remember that you are required to see this if you are in any theatre class.
Also, remember that "Pippin" will be performing at the State One-Act Play Festival this Friday (April 11), and the State Individual Events will be this Saturday Morning (April 12). Both will be held at Taylorsville High School.
