The 2012 Hillcrest High School Performing Arts Musical

The life and career of America's "favorite son," Will Rogers, is told in the style of a classic Ziegfield Follies spactacular. In 1991, "The Will Rogers Follies" won 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical, beating other nominees "Miss Saigon," "The Secret Garden," and "Once On This Island."

Charming, honest and plainspoken, the show epitomizes the wit and homespun wisdom of the famed entertainer, cowboy, comedian, philosopher and movie and Broadway star. The life of Will Rogers, from his career as an entertainer to his campaign to run for President of the United States, to the plane crash that eventually ended his life, is told through giant follies-style production numbers that include rope tricks, performing dogs, and a grand entrance by his wife who sings while being lowered to the stage sitting on the moon.

The positive legacy of Will Rogers is given tribute in the musical, reminding audiences of the many thoughts and ideas he used to share with the American people through his popular radio show during the great depression.

"I never yet met a man that I didn't like. When you meet people, no matter what opinion you might have formed about them beforehand, why, after you meet them and see their angle and their personality, why, you can see a lot of good in all of them."---Will Rogers

Congratulations to Tyler Emeney who was the first person to send in the correct guess.

I didn't know we were supposed to send in a guess. Who would we have sent it to?
